Hampstead, London – Interior design for a refined pasta restaurant that balances Italian warmth with clean modernism and a sensory dining experience.

brief.
Be Studio partnered with chef-owner Riccardo to craft the interiors of Tortellini, a fresh pasta restaurant in Hampstead. The design brief was to create a welcoming, elegant environment that highlights Italian culinary heritage through simplicity, quality, and warmth. Drawing from natural elements and personal touches, the space was envisioned as an intimate extension of Riccardo’s passion for handmade cuisine.

details.
The interiors reflect a balance between rustic tradition and modern refinement. Earthy green tones and warm wooden elements soften the contrast of the original red flooring, creating a grounded yet vibrant setting. Bespoke marble-top tables and wooden chairs were developed from detailed FFE drawings to embody the restaurant’s artisanal character. Soft, layered lighting and landscape photography evoke comfort and atmosphere, while potted herbs at each table enhance freshness and aroma. At the heart of the space is an open kitchen, allowing guests to witness the pasta-making process and deepen their connection with the food. Every element—from material selection to spatial arrangement—was thoughtfully chosen to express authenticity, elegance, and culinary storytelling. Tortellini offers more than just a meal; it’s an immersive experience of Italian craftsmanship, brought to life through design.
