When a young couple requested a modest update, we recognized the latent potential of this architectural gem to be something far greater. A comprehensive feasibility study identified the core friction: a disjointed mezzanine where bedrooms lacked ensuites, compromising the distinction between private retreat and public volume. Utilizing advanced 360-degree laser scanning, we navigated the idiosyncrasies of the 150-year-old structure—correcting significant floor variances and non-linear walls. The resulting design centers on a bespoke staircase and a reconfigured bathroom suite, resolving circulation issues with surgical precision. This partial renovation facilitates an immediate, elevated living experience while laying the groundwork for a broader future vision, ensuring the loft’s historic grandeur is fully realized.
