We’re excited to share the story of one of our newest projects in Shoreditch, a pied-à-terre renovation for a vibrant young couple with two kids. This flat will serve as their London retreat, and we’re thrilled to be part of transforming their vision into reality.
When we first sat down with our clients, Emily and her husband, their initial idea was to include a roof extension to maximize the flat’s potential. However, after detailed assessments with the Building Control Officer and fire engineers, we collectively decided against it. The new fire safety regulations made compliance extremely challenging and costly, so we shifted our focus to enhancing the existing layout instead. The goal is now to elevate the current space, improving both functionality and aesthetics to create a home that feels luxurious, welcoming, and uniquely theirs.
A Design That Tells a Story
As we delved deeper into the project, it became clear that this wasn’t just about making a flat look beautiful. Emily, with her impeccable taste and love for design, brought a wealth of inspiration to the table. She had a clear vision for what she wanted, and we’re helping her refine and execute that vision with care and creativity. One standout feature we’ve proposed is a stunning arched design to frame the kitchen cove, adding character and elegance to the space while maintaining a sense of flow throughout.

The current layout posed a few challenges, particularly the bathroom, which is far too small to meet the needs of the family. We’re completely reimagining it, turning it into a proper sanctuary with a clean and modern look. The pièce de résistance? A gorgeous new bathtub positioned by the window, perfect for relaxing while enjoying the view.
Another key focus is addressing the exposed cable trays in the flat. By concealing these and creating clean, streamlined ceilings and walls, we’re giving the space a more polished and cohesive appearance. Every design decision, from the fixtures to the finishes, has been thoughtfully considered to ensure it aligns with the family’s lifestyle and taste.
