Our interior design process is built around four key phases: Preparation, Design, Details, and Execution. These big steps follow the recognised RIBA and BIID stages and form the foundation of a well-structured, high-quality project. Each phase includes essential substeps explained in more detail below—none of which should be skipped for a truly successful result.

preparation.
design brief.

It all starts with you. We’ll sit down together (virtually or in person) to chat about your style, how you want the space to feel, what you need it to do, and of course, your budget and timeline. Think of it as a design therapy session—we’re here to listen and understand your vision.

Once we’ve got a clear picture, we’ll put everything into a detailed brief. This becomes our roadmap, making sure we’re always on the same page.

preparation.
site visit.

Next, we’ll visit your space. This is where we get to know the nitty-gritty—the layout, the lighting, the flow, and any existing furniture or décor you want to keep. We’ll take precise measurements and make notes so we can work with what’s already there.

design.
feasibility study.

During the feasibility phase, we explore the full potential of your space by testing different layout options and configurations. Our goal is to identify the most functional and efficient arrangement in terms of flow, proportions, and usability. This stage helps establish a strong design direction grounded in both creativity and practical considerations.

concept design.

This is where the fun begins! We’ll create mood boards filled with colors, textures, fabrics, and ideas to bring your vision to life. You’ll also see rough sketches of how the space could look, including furniture placement and key design elements.

Once we’ve got something to show you, we’ll present the concept and get your feedback. Your input is everything—this is your space, after all. We’ll tweak and refine until it feels just right.

details.
technical design.

Now we get into the details. We’ll create refined drawings of the layout, custom furniture, cabinetry, and lighting. You’ll help us choose materials, finishes, and specific furniture pieces. And to give you a sneak peek, we’ll create 3D visualizations so you can see exactly how everything will come together.

ffe&specifications.

This is where we get technical. We’ll prepare detailed drawings and documents for the contractors, carpenters, and other tradespeople.

Everything from the materials to the finishes will be clearly specified, often with physical samples so you can see and feel the quality.

deliver.
procurement.

We’ll source and select the best contractors, artisans, and vendors for your project. Once we’ve got quotes, we’ll review them together and make sure everything fits your budget. Then, we’ll place orders for all the furniture, fixtures, and materials.

During the construction phase, we’ll be on-site regularly to make sure everything’s going according to plan. We’ll coordinate with contractors and suppliers, and if any challenges pop up (they usually do!), we’ll solve them together.

handover.

Finally, we’ll do a walkthrough with you to review the finished space. If there are any little tweaks needed (we call these “snags”), we’ll make a list and get them sorted. Then, it’s all yours—a space that’s uniquely you, designed with care and creativity.
